Ericson Mason scored 19PTS for his side Kardinals. But of those points it was his go ahead basket with two seconds left that had to separate both teams in OT.
Kardinals badly needed this win to get back in contention of qualifying for the Big 6. Visioneers on the other hand also needed the victory to solidify their campaign for this season. Team Visioneers came into the match-up riding a three game win streak after dropping their initial two games for the season.
Visioneers team started on a strong note scoring quick basket in successions. It was looking as another day at the office as their previous victories.
Gabriel Richards, skipper of the team was in form. His constant attack in the paint had him visiting the charity stripe. Then he entered foul trouble. His fourth foul came early in the third quarter and before changes were made, he was called for a charging foul on the next possession.
Gabriel Richards had 16PTS, 6REB and 3STL. He is currently averaging twelve points in his past four games.
Visioneers threw out a sixteen points lead they had to the surprise of their fans in attendance. What was looking as a walk in the park quickly turned sour.
Alston Mabande begin a 10-0 run by hitting two three pointers in successions. He went 3-6 from behind the arc. He had 12PTS for the night.
Kelvin Dewee was the X-Factor for the Kardinals. His inside move and experience around the rim foul out Visioneers rim protector, Mohammed Turay. Turay finished with 6PTS, 10REB.
Dewee had a team high 21PTS for the Kardinals.
Anthony Quadri led all scorers with 25PTS in his team lost. He is currently averaging 19PTS for the season and candidate for the MVP Award.
With the lost, Visioneers has droped to seventh position with Kardinals leap frogging them to the sixth playoff spot.
The ‘Vision’ boys has five more games to end the first round.
It will be a disastrously season if Visioneers gets kick out in the first round.
Information reaching Liberiabasketball.net is that founding players of Visioneers, William Gittens and Shaquelle Bono. Both has been side line due to injury and other matters. They are expected to be in the red, white and blue jerseys sooner then we can think.
It is very much debatable that the Division II is the most entertaining division this season. As it stands, there is no clear cut team, one can say, will win the division.
