Celestine Nwafor has a long resume of exploits in the game of basketball. He played for Kano Pillars in the past in the Nigeria Basketball Federation leagues. He also at one time wore the national jersey of his country. Today he is plying his trade here in Liberia with Mighty Barrolle.
Celestine has demonstrated in the Final Four series against Invincible Eleven that he can carry his team on his back. In the series he averaged double figures. In the two games, Celestine averaged 13.5 PPG, 10.5 RPG to go along with 3.0BPG!
Celestine will have to remain at such an elite level for the finals against Bushrod Bulls.
Bushrod Bulls is one team he has not won against in Liberia.
“I am now set and ready to give my team this championship,” Celestine told LBN. “The finals will be fun”
In 19 games this season, Celestine is averaging 9.1 PTS, 8.2 RBD and 1.2 BPG.
Fellow countryman Anec Ejeh is expected to be a go to factor in this final series. He was quiet in the final four against Invincible Eleven. The shot protector, power forward massive frame will have a lot to do. Anything short of a double figure scoreline will have him questionable to the fans.
Massive help from Brian Nyangbe and Richard Dorley is definitely going to be called upon. The guards will have to sharpen their snipping ability to get this one done.
Truth be told, Mighty Barrolle despite being the reigning defending champions are coming into this matchup as underdogs. Reason being that they are yet to gather a win against Bushrod Bulls this season.
Pundits have Bushrod Bulls winning the series but knowing the likes of Barrolle, they are yet to see a final and go down.
This will be a long series. The team who will control the boards will surely win the day.
