The nets were sizzling hot for Spartacus as they dominated Kardinal in a blowout victory, 89-26, announcing their promotion to the Liberia Basketball Association’s Division Two!.
From the opening tip, it was clear Spartacus meant business. Their defense was a brick wall, limiting Kardinal to a measly 11 points in the first half, while their offense was firing on all cylinders. They shot an impressive 54% from the field, including a scorching 33-for-53 clip from field goal attempts (FGA). This lights-out shooting display had the crowd buzzing and gave Spartacus a commanding 42-11 lead at the break.
Leading the charge for Spartacus was Bannye A. Prowd, who poured in a game-high 16 points. Prowd wasn’t a one-man show though, as he received stellar support from Hadrian Sebwe. Sebwe was a nightmare matchup for Kardinal, going a perfect 7-for-7 from the field to finish with a cool 14 points. Tolloe T Roy was the lone bright spot for Kardinal, chipping in 12 points despite a rough shooting night (29% FG).
Spartacus will now set their sights on making a splash in Division Two. Their next challenge comes this Friday against the Georgia Warriors, who are also looking to bounce back after dropping their season opener to the Ka-Rockets.
Meanwhile, Kardinal will look to regroup and refocus their energy for their upcoming matchup against Royal Legends on March 20th. This loss is a bitter pill to swallow, but with a strong showing next game, they can quickly turn things around.
Congratulations to Spartacus on their well-deserved promotion! Let’s see what kind of noise they can make in Division Two. Good luck to both teams in their upcoming matchups!
