Serena Jallah 16pts Lifts Desert Ladies

Serena Jallah is definitely one of the exciting female players to watch in the basketball landscape of Liberia. She is a player that could bring national pride in a foreign competition.

Her heart and feeling of the game is off the chart! Serena is one player who despite her height, standing at 5’6″, carries her team every time.

As the primary ball handler for the team, you will also find her on the scoring end finishing fast breaks or initiating one.

Desert Ladies as a team is also not new in the female division. They won the 2018/2019 championship over Vision Angels.

Both teams are always excited to play each other. Vision Angels defeated Desert Ladies last season in the first round. Many thought this was the turning point for the Angels to continue dominance over the girls from the ‘Desert.”

The results of the Sunday game shows that Vision Angels still has a huge task ahead.

The game had a lot of high points that had the fans on their feet. From dribble cross, to amazing shots from both teams was entertaining.

Down by two points with less than 20secs to go, Vision Angels Precious Johnson made a costly turnover. A subsequent foul had their opponent to the charity stripe.

Both free throws gave Desert Ladies a single point lead.

Vision Angels still had 7secs to steal the show but a wild shot by Ebony Manyango saw her shot hitting the backboard as time exipres.

One take away from the match is that the female game in Liberia is gradually gaining back momentum as we have more of such competitive basketball.
