On Saturday, the division two and three finalists were in action. In Division III, Spartacus took game one defeating Vision Shooters 67-72. It was both teams’ first time playing four quarters of basketball.
The D3 in regular season consists of two halves of 15 mins stop time.
Benjamin K Reeves of Spartacus led his team with 19 PTS. He also got help from Bantu Weah, Isaac Barclay and Kirk D Hunder who all combined to score 39 PTS.
Captain for Vision Shoters, Abel G Glay, Jr had a double double with 16PTS, 17REB. His teammates Prince B Montgomery, Issiaga SK Somah and Ansu Swaray scored 19, 14 and 11 PTS respectively.
Both teams will meet again on Wednesday for Game Two at 4PM. Venue is SKD Gym.
In the second game of the same day, Barnesville Dragons came from behind to stun Visioneers. Visioneers had the lead for over three quarters but could not hold on to seal it. It was both teams’ third time meeting this season.
The Dragons defeated Visioneers in the opening part of the season. Visioneers also got a win against them in the Big Six which almost knocked them out. The Dragons had to defeat the Kardinals to make it to the Final Four on a three team tie with Visioneers.
Stephen Bowman was man of the match, scoring 19 PTS, 12 REBS. for his side to win. Mark Tequah and Elijah Mulbah both had double digit scoring with 14 and 10 PTS respectively.
Anthony Quadri and Justin Matthews combined for 27 PTS in their side loss.
