Brian, Richard Power Barrolle Past Oilers 60-50 (VIDEO)

Brian Nyangbe, the version most are accustomed to, came to ball last night. The most sought after player in the off-season because of his attack prowess and IQ ability was on display. Brian, the slasher-dasher, shot-hitting, is why he was signed up for. Reports have it that he is the most expensive signing this season.

Richard Dorley also became Rich-three. Yes, Dorley who has been inconsistent in his shooting form, found his spots and shot well. To maintain their championship, both these guys will have to be their version night after night.

Brian and Richard both combined scoring thirty-three points, 19 and 14 respectively. Richard was 50% from three point land, hitting four out of eight attempts. Brian also shot 2-7 from the same distance. The latter hit five of nine from free throws.

Julius Kpakolo was the leader no doubt in this encounter, on this night, he was the primary guard whenever on the floor. He had 6PTS, 7REB with six dimes to go with. He had a scary encounter in the fourth quarter, when after a collision with an opponent, he crumpled to the floor, gripping his leg. He was led off the floor by his team medic and would not return. Much was expected from LPRC Oilers who won their phase two opener against NPA Pythons in OT, but much was to be seen.

They seem to struggle in getting their offense together and their shooters open. Sharp shooter for the team, Samuel Kpannie had 13PTS and was 1-3 from deep. All his attempts were highly contested. Samuel will need to get in form if he is to carry this team on his back as earlier years.

Veteran Samuel Davidson years are running out, if the Oilers need to be a contender in the coming years they will have to give this man some rest. Bulldog was aggressive for his side as usual. Playing minutes meant for those in their prime. The vet contributed 9PTS to go along with 5REB. He led his team in scoring.

Nicholas Koffa had a great shooting night 22ft beyond the basket. He shot 75%, making three of his four attempts.

A player after the game who asked to remain anonymous had this to say:

Our offseason recruitment was poor. We recruited a lot of guards and this team does not need a guard. We need centers. Also key players are not turning up to practices. If such continues we might not make the final four.

Mighty Barrolle is now on a roll with two games win under their belt and looking unstoppable.

The Technical Director of the Invincible Eleven, who had a win two nights ago against Bushrod Bulls, doesn’t have the same notion.
